Hi friends!
Happy December! Can you believe we’ve already entered the final month of 2023? With all of the consumerism happening this month, we thought we’d advocate for slowing down, taking a deep breath, and reading a good book.
So pour yourself a calming cup of tea, a cozy mug of coffee, or a peppermint-marshmallow-filled goblet of hot cocoa and enjoy our celebration of reading!

Did You Know?
According to Golden Steps’ 49 facts about reading, 65% of Americans have read a physical, printed book in the past year. Also, the average citizen reads 12 books per year. That’s one a month for anyone counting at home. How many books do you read in 2023?
Head to Your Local Library and Feel Good
I always feel good when I walk through the doors of my local library. But are libraries good for your well-being? Heck yeah, they are! PressReader shows us how libraries can support mental health and well-being in their communities.
What I’m Reading
I had to wait a few weeks on my library’s waiting list, but my hold was ready to pick up last Saturday and I am absolutely loving Tim O’Brien’s new book. America Fantastica. O’Brien’s first novel in twenty years, I couldn’t recommend this more for any fan of The Things They Carried or lovers of page-turning, engaging writing.
And that’s the Weekly Wax! Stay bookish, friends!
